What is the Duration of the Vertical Blue Competition?

The Vertical Blue competition, a renowned freediving event, spans a total of nine days of intense competition. Notably, this prestigious gathering features two designated rest days during its run. These days fall on July 23 and July 27, offering athletes a brief respite from the physical challenges of this demanding sport.

Throughout the competition, each athlete is granted a maximum of six attempts to showcase their skills in one of the four depth disciplines of competitive freediving: CWT, CWTB, FIM, and CNF. This provides them with ample opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency and push their limits.

The Vertical Blue competition is not just about pushing physical boundaries; it’s also about mental resilience and determination. Athletes must manage their nerves, maintain focus under pressure, and execute their dives flawlessly. The combination of physical performance and mental fortitude makes this event truly captivating.

Beyond the competitive aspect, the Vertical Blue competition offers a platform for athletes to connect with the wider freediving community. With workshops, demonstrations, and social events, there’s something for everyone at this must-attend gathering for freediving enthusiasts.
